FIFA World Cup: The 22nd edition of the competition will take place in Qatar later this year.

The tournament is scheduled to be played between 20 November 2022 and 18 December 2022. It will be the first-ever edition of the FIFA World Cup to be held in an Arab country.

32 teams from six different continents will participate in the main event. The reigning World Cup champions are France.

They lifted the trophy after beating Croatia 4-2 in the final of the competition in 2018. The European nation is among the favourites to lift the World Cup again this term.

According to ESPN, Paris will not broadcast World Cup matches in public fan zones.

The Western European country is concerned about rights violations of migrant workers and the environmental impact of the tournament in Qatar. FIFA World Cup 2022 will be the first-ever edition of the competition to be played in the Northern Autumn due to the intense summer heat in Qatar.

When questioned why the city has boycotted the screenings, Paris’ deputy mayor Pierre Rabadan said: “The conditions of the organisation of this World Cup, both on the environmental and social level. Air-conditioned stadiums” and the conditions in which these facilities have been built are to be questioned.”

According to a report by the Guardian published in 2021, 6500 migrant workers have died since Qatar won its bid to host the tournament.

Ukraine To Join Spain And Portugal In 2030 FIFA World Cup Bid

Ukraine will join Portugal and Spain in their bid to host the 2030 edition of the FIFA World Cup. The presidents of the three countries’ football federations announced their project at an event in Switzerland earlier this week.

The Eastern European nation has been at war against neighbouring Russia since February. Ukrainian football federation president Andriy Pavelko recently commented that hosting the 2030 World Cup would be the dream of the people of his country.

While speaking to the media, he said: “This is the dream of millions of Ukrainian fans,” Pavel “the dream of people who survived the horrors of war or are still in the occupied territories and over whom the Ukrainian flag will surely fly soon.”

Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay have submitted a bid to co-host the 2030 edition of the FIFA World Cup. Apart from that Saudi Arabia is also preparing a bid to host the tournament alongside Egypt and Greece.
